Dressage

I have been surrounded by Grand Prix Dressage riders my whole life and this has really influenced my training style. Over the last three years, I have been focusing almost exclusively on studying and training dressage with Chelsea Balcean at Gem Equestrian in an attempt to master my own athletic ability in the saddle and understand how to develop my horses to be better than ever. Developing the foundation for true connection, balance and harmony between the horse and rider is an absolute essential for my young horses, and I would love to build these qualities in yours!

Jumping

The bulk of my competitive and training experience is in hunter jumper. Getting horses started in jumping requires calm confidence and quiet, balanced equitation style. If you think you would like your horse to learn how to jump in a way that will make you feel safe and confident, allow me get them started over fences for you! By focusing on letting the horse learn slowly and with a correct foundation in dressage, the horse will be less likely to loose their confidence and pick up bad habits!

Colt Starting

Young horses are my favourite!! I have always felt that I have learned the most about myself and my abilities by working with colts of all shapes and sizes. A cowboy named Chuck once told me that the first 30 days of real work that a horse has with a person will shape the rest of their lives. I really believe this and take it very seriously when I start young horses. Every colt is completely unique and requires a different approach. Variables such as breeding, previous experience, natural ability and other environmental factors all play a role in the young horses ability to adapt and retain education. If you want your young horse started with success and trust in mind, please consider sending them my way!
